A first report of its kind prepared for the State of Uttarakhand in India, it presents the status of women and gender disparities related to seven thematic indicators down to the district level. District level data for many of the indicators and sub-indicators is compiled and presented for the first time. It highlights existing intra-district disparities and focuses on indicators that can be continuously monitored by the concerned agencies to guide policy action. The report also seeks to identify gaps and achievements of the State in different areas to help identify, create and sustain programmatic and political support.
